Before I begin to paint?
Imagine having to sart a DIY (do it yourself) paint project without prior knowledge of how or what should be done before, during and after running the project?
Below is a list of things to do before you venture into a Painting project.
• Safety first: You would have to use a sturdy ladder with a shelf to enable you carry your paint and tools, it is equally important to cover your eyes with goggles, and use an overcoat to keep paint away from your body. Overall, use PPE - Personal protective equipment.
• Color selection: In order to avoid been confuse, it is important to use a color chart to get a choice for the color, you could also use an online website to check the color combination. Check out our Instagram page to see varieties of paint types and colors to make a choice
• Sampling: To have an idea of how the paint would look when you're done. To do this, using white poster board, paint it with different shades of your desired color and allow it to dry. Once it is done put it in different rooms to see the alteration in color shade. By doing this, you'd have an idea of what the painting would feel like by the time you'd be done.
• Right Sheen: You can use a high gloss paint for a stylized room
• Wash: Before you start painting the wall make sure you have cleaned it properly without any dirt or patches left on it
• Primer: To get a polished look primer is a must, but make sure that you use an oil-based primer instead of water-based, it would help you to cover water stains
• Plan your Paint: It is worse when you finish painting in the middle of the painting, and that too if it is a combination of different colors. Measure and calculate properly every corner of the room and then prepare it in bulk
